Description: Anita is a promising filmmaker based in Lagos, Nigeria. She hails from Delta State but was born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria. She graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Information and Communication Engineering from the prestigious Covenant University, Ogun State, Nigeria. She is also a graduate of The Director's Toolkit from Ebonylife Creative Academy, Lagos, Nigeria. As an actors’ director, Anita understands that filmmaking is a collaborative art and it takes a team to execute the director's vision. She has a passion for exploring the role of flaws and vulnerability in her characters to show truth and honesty in film. She strongly believes in the power of visual storytelling to inspire, entertain, and provoke thoughts. Using light, camera, and sound, Anita communicates the true essence of creativity by conveying messages with strong societal themes to shape perspectives and positively impact our world. She leaves no stone unturned in achieving the vision or task at hand. Her love for excellence has always driven her to be the best at anything she sets her mind to doing. She goes by the mantra, “If it is from Anita, then it has to be excellent!” With over 5 years of experience in the film industry, she has been privileged to direct and produce a co-direct couple of short films and visual stories that resonate with audiences. These films have been recognized internationally and nationally, leading to prestigious media fellowships and nominations, such as the documentary series Transcendent (2019), Speak Up (2019), Adunni (2020), Live Free (2020), The After Party (2022), and Sonorous (2024), which won the MZIAIF ICFF Young Generation Kingdom Award 2024. The goal is to leave a legacy—to leave footprints not just in the sand of time but in the granite of eternity, by telling stories that matter and giving room for inward reflection using Media as a tool. Most importantly, drawing men to Christ, their first love.
