Description: Irene Udebuana is a doctor, social impact entrepreneur, and founder of Kids in LET, a social enterprise equipping children (ages 7-17) with tech-for-climate skills to tackle plastic pollution and climate challenges in their communities. She grew up in Ijanikin, Lagos State, where plastic waste filled streets and waterways. Witnessing how environmental issues affected daily life inspired her to act, founding Kids in LET at the age of 22, during her final year in medical school at the University of Nigeria. To sustain its mission, Kids in LET generates revenue by offering paid climate-tech bootcamps to students in better-resourced schools (B2B) and also offering its services directly to parents privately, teaching their kids/students green robotics & artificial intelligence, coding for climate, smart recycling, and circular economy technovation. They also create and sell robotics & STEM-for-climate kits, creating a financially sustainable model for growth. In just over a year, she has reached 1,000+ children across Lagos, Enugu, and Anambra states. Post-assessment surveys show an 85% increase in climate awareness and technical skills. She is currently developing a digital application to make climate-tech education accessible to kids in communities with limited power and internet in Africa.
